Pat
bass / yelling
Owns fourteen pedals, uses two, and will explain the other twelve if you make eye contact. The band recording/mixing engineer, agent and dad. Solid at bass, currently learning to sing without swallowing the microphone.
loud, groovy, mostly in time, mostly on time
Stockholm-based Kaktus Galaktus started because Pat needs to be in a band more than he needs food and water. He called up ex-bandmate Jony to embark on this journey together. After rotating through some other members, the guys stumbled upon the great Jonas, who had nothing better to do on a Thursday. We found a cheap rehearsal room with a floor mat that has seen things (this mat really doesn’t get enough credit for its hard work), pooled our combined knowledge of music theory, and discovered that knowing a little and using it kinda wrong is honestly most of the fun.
We play a mix of rock styles with strained vocal cords, a lot of energy, and a bluesy groove that is on the fence whether it wants to join in. Add a touch of latin vibes, and a drizzle of funk bass and you've got our home-cooked style. We're not even sure how to define it. We like to write music that entices us and steps away from the basic 4 chords and AABABCB song structures. It doesn’t have to be super complex, but we do like a bit of spice.
This is a passion project for us. No plans for taking over the world unless destiny accidentally puts us on that path. For now it's just a growing pile of recordings, a weekly rehearsal and a bunch of fun ideas that might or might not turn into finished music.
influences: muse, tool, royal blood, the black keys, screaming goats

guitar (newbie but devotedly practicing)
A musical explorer who has played multiple instruments and will chase any new idea — modes, odd time signatures, a pedal that does one weird thing — even if the song has to sit down for a minute and recover. The songs occasionally file a complaint, but we are having a great time.

drums / john deere cap
Give him any song and he'll give you the beat to Pneuma back. Guitar player turned drummer, due to the classic drummer shortage, but turns out he is a beast behind the kit. Wears a John Deere tractor cap at all times and plays without a click because 'clicks are for tractors'.
less fancy than a three-piece suit but fancier than a three-piece meal deal (arguably)
